Author Milan Sergent was recognized as a Book Excellence Award Finalist for his book, CANDLEWICKE 13 AND THE TOMBSTONE FOREST in the Fantasy Category.

Out of hundreds of books that were entered into the Book Excellence Awards competition, Sergent’s book was selected for its high-quality writing, design, and overall market appeal.

Candlewicke 13 and the Tombstone Forest received Readers' Favorite International Award

On September 1, 2019, Author Milan Sergent accepted the 2019 International Readers’ Favorite Finalist Award in the Children Fantasy/Sci-Fi category for CANDLEWICKE 13 AND THE TOMBSTONE FOREST, the second novel from the Candlewicke 13 series released in 2019. 

Over four hundred authors and guests from all over the world attended the two-day award ceremony in Miami, Florida.

The Readers' Favorite International Book Award Contest featured thousands of contestants from over a dozen countries, ranging from new independent authors to NYT best-sellers and celebrities. With over 800 winners and finalists in over 150 categories, five (5) award levels are given in each category: Gold, Silver, Bronze, Honorable Mention, and Award Finalist.

2019 Mississippi Book Festival - A Literary Lawn Party: August 17, 2019

Milan Sergent attended the 2019 Mississippi Book Festival held on the grounds of the Mississippi State Capital. He had a table in Author Alley on Mississippi Street where he had both Book One and Book Two available for sale and giveaways.

The Mississippi Book Festival’s fifth anniversary proved a banner year for book fans as attendance rocketed to a record 9,300-plus, and hundreds more enjoyed the festive vibe outdoors.

Supernatural Saturday! Book Signing with Author Milan Sergent

On July 13, Southern Bound Book Shop welcomed author, artist, and poet Milan Sergent. Attendees were encouraged to come in their favorite magical costumes. The winner of the contest will win The Curse of the McRavens signed by the author.

Ernest & Hadley Booksellers - Book Signing April 13, 2019

Milan Sergent, author of the Candlewicke 13 young adult fantasy series who recently ranked in the Top 5 Mississippi YA Reads had a book signing at E&H.

*COSTUME CONTEST* Attendees were encouraged to dress as their favorite wizard, witch, or enchanted being! Black & white stripes were encouraged! Winner (8-year-old +) was announced and received both books in the series, signed by the author.

*EASTER BASKET GIVEAWAY* Anyone who buys a book was in the drawing. The basket had a copy Book Two, Candlewicke 13 and the Tombstone Forest, a Sweet Spun Sugar Candle, and lots of Easter goodies.

CANDLEWICKE 13 by Milan Sergent was listed as the 4th top read book under the Children and Young Adults category in the Mississippi Top Reads / Sunday, March 10, 2019 issue compiled by University Press of Mississippi.

Lemuria Books - Candlewicke 13 launch of Book One and Book Two! 2/26/19

From The Magically Mischievous Mind of Milan Sergent came the Young Adult Fantasy Novel Series - Book One: Candlewicke 13: Curse of the McRavens and Book Two: Candlewicke 13 and the Tombstone Forest.

At the book launch/signing event, there was live music, videos, giveaways, and enchanted snacks. Attendees were encouraged to put on their best witch or wizard hat (or other magic attire) if they wished, and bring their kids and friends!

Over 150 were in attendance.
